Hello fellow Rotarians,

You ask, and we deliver! Our two brunch fellowships/mini-meetings were so popular, that we're adding them into our regular schedule. For the next few months, starting in March, we'll be having brunch fellowship on the last Sunday of every month. Some may be at the Park Hotel, some might rotate to other places around town, so be sure to check the club calendar to find out where to go. The next brunch, March 29th, will be at the Baldwin Street Grille on East Washington Avenue. If you have a favorite spot that would accommodate a group of about twenty people, let me know and I'll try to get it into the rotation.

We've had quite the influx of new members lately, so be sure to go to the website and check out the bios that I've been posting in the News section. I've added a little "March Madness" twist to the President's Challenge, too. For each potential member that you bring to a meeting during the month of March, you can choose any box on the challenge and mark it complete. Don't think you'll be able to find a sponsor for our website or find the time to go to another club's event? Just bring a friend to a meeting or event and you can check those off!

See you on Sunday,

Erin Luken

2019-2020 President

Upcoming Events

Sunday, March 1st - Club Meeting: Baldwin Street Grille

The Post at the Park Hotel, 22 S Carroll Street, Madison, social at 6:30 pm, meeting at 7:00 pm. Join us on Sunday as Ryan Shultz shares his experience with owning and operating the Baldwin Street Grille! Three years ago, Ryan was working at the Baldwin Street Grille under different ownership. As fate would have it, two weeks after his son Sebastian was born, Ryan came into work only to find out that the owner was selling the place and he and the rest of the staff would be out of a job. Having nearly 13 years of experience in the industry, and having held almost every position from server to Assistant GM, Ryan had his son's future in mind and took a leap of faith. Putting everything on the line and risking it all, he agreed to take over ownership of the Baldwin Street Grille so that everyone could keep their jobs and save the place that he and the neighboring community loved to call home!

Sunday, March 15th - Club Meeting: Wisconsin Literacy

The Post at the Park Hotel, 22 S Carroll Street, Madison, social at 6:30 pm, meeting at 7:00 pm. Asset Builders of America is a non-profit organization that has been teaching financial capability and economic empowerment to low and moderate income youth and families since 1999. Founders Richard Entenmann and Robert Wynn were both working in financial investor protection - Entenmann with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Wynn with the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions. They both saw the damage that lack of wealth and financial literacy were creating for millions of Americans and together, they founded Asset Builders. Their goal was simple - to proactively educate and prepare individuals to avoid financial pitfalls and predatory practices, as well as to show a better way to create personal wealth and economic stability.
