Greetings fellow AH Rotarians, And happy anniversary to us all. Our club, Madison After Hours Rotary, was chartered ten years ago this month. I suspect the exact date was 22 May 2013, since four of our long-standing members (Justin, Mac, Val and Brenda) all show that date for their entry into the club. It is a good time to take inspiration from all that has been accomplished, and also to look forward to our future volunteer contributions. In the coming weeks we have a couple of volunteer opportunities. On Saturday, 20 May, there will be a work party at the UW Arboretum to help remove invasive plants and to learn about native species. On Saturday, 3 June, there will be a gathering at the Anderson Farm Garden in Oregon, the garden helps supply healthy and very fresh food items to local food pantries in the area. Both are morning events and sturdy work gloves are strongly recommended. The last webinar in the RI series on Cultivating Effective Projects will be this coming Thursday, 18 May, at 6 PM. The last session is titled Expanding Reach: Partner with Youth in Service, and registration for this seminar can be found here. A video recording of the previous session on Measuring Results can be found here. Please join us this coming Monday, 15 May, at the Park Hotel or on zoom at the usual times, 5:15 for the social and 5:45 for the meeting, to hear from Louis Scarantino, Autism Advocate, to learn about his experiences and advocacy. |
