May 1 newsletter
Hello fellow Rotarians,

April showers bring May flowers...and hopefully a lifting of Wisconsin’s #StayAtHome order in a few weeks! I hope that this beautiful sunny weather is lifting your spirits and giving you a renewed sense of energy and purpose. I’ve been working on our club’s calendar and website, and it’s been awesome posting all kinds of events and meetings for the month of May. There is so much going on at all levels of Rotary right now, even through all of this uncertainty.

If you’re itching for a hands-on volunteer opportunity, see below for information on the mask-making project that John has organized for YP week. The pick-up for the kits is today (Friday) from 3-6 pm, and drop-off of finished masks is next week. If, like me, you don’t qualify to be able to make masks, you can still tune in on Saturday to Rotary International’s #RotaryResponds Facebook Livestream. Our small-but-mighty After Hours Club has been the star of the district this year in per-capita donations, and we can continue that by helping RI reach the goal of $1 million dollars for disaster relief this weekend.

Finally, we have a great speaker line-up in May. This Sunday’s speaker is Money Mindset Coach April Wahl, recommended to us by Jordann. Then on May 17th we’ll hear from the President and CEO of The River Food Pantry (and fellow Rotarian) Charles McLimans. The River Food Pantry also happens to be the recipient of our Q2 Happy/Sad dollars.

See you soon,
Erin Luken
Club President 2019-2020
