News & Updates, February 27, 2019
Greetings,

The people have spoken – the third and fourth quarter donations that we raise through our happy & sad dollar updates at each meeting will be going to… the Kanifing, Gambia Library Project!  If you didn’t have the chance to attend our last meeting, Kaba & Jerreh, who are working on the project, shared their impactful plan to build a library in the underserved district of Kanifing. I am excited about the future partnerships that we can build with Madison’s sister city Kanifing, and I hope you consider joining us at an upcoming meeting to take part as well.

We have an abundance of exciting events coming up that I’ve outlined below.  Thank you to everyone who has been involved in the planning! If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to get involved, consider this your invitation.  We’d love to have more Rotarians and guests alike involved in our projects.

See you this weekend,

Chelsea Sheedy
2018-2019 President

SUSTAINABLE SUDS BREWERY CIRCUIT 3.0

You asked for it...Sustainable Suds Brewery Circuit is back for another tour!!!

This event will be the kickoff of YPWeek in Madison on April 20th at 1:00pm. It's time once again to embark on a journey full of suds and sophistication as we travel to and taste more of the multiple Madison breweries participating in sustainable practices with your hosts, Rotary Club of Madison After Hours & SWANA.

This is not your average brewery tour as you will be awe'd by the multiple facets and levels of sustainability of our Madison breweries. Learn how one brewery utilizes a composting program, and how another brewery focuses on energy reductions.

You will receive a free beer or mead at each location. Park near the Great Dane Downtown - there is a ramp connected to the Dane, or Block 89 Parking on Doty.

Please arrive at Great Dane downtown promptly at 1pm & check in with the group downstairs in the cellar. Great Dane will be providing us with beer samples and appetizers so we will have a great start before we hop on the bus!

Brewery/Distillery Line Up:

  • The Great Dane Pub & Brewing Company
  • Bos Meadery
  • Giant Jones Brewery
  • Working Draft

Price for the tour is $20 before April 1st and then goes to $25. Includes 4 free drinks and loads of fun! Space is limited to 50 people and it will sell out so make sure you get your ticket!

Thank you to our major sponsor Great Dane Pub & Brewing Company!!
